Private dining Chef Kang’s closing down after 8 consecutive years of Michelin stars

Chef Ang Song Kang, after a distinguished 30-year career, announces the closure of his renowned Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, Chef Kang’s, on 10 October 2024.

Over the past decade, the restaurant has offered exquisite Cantonese cuisine in an intimate setting, accommodating only 3 tables each night. The restaurant has consistently earned one Michelin star from 2017 to 2024, reflecting its commitment to fresh ingredients and timeless recipes.

Located at 25 Mackenzie Road, Chef Kang’s is a highly-regarded Cantonese restaurant recognised for its cosy atmosphere and superb cuisine. It was opened in 2015 with only 5 tables to ensure a unique and personalised dining experience. Despite its tiny size and design, it received a Michelin star in 2017, demonstrating its high-quality items and the chef’s exceptional culinary skills.

As the Michelin-starred restaurant marks the 10th anniversary of his restaurant, he has decided to retire without a successor to carry on his legacy. To honour his patrons, chef will personally prepare meals for just  2 tables each night as a farewell gesture to those who have supported him throughout the years.

In conjunction with the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, Chef will also offer his handmade mooncakes for the final time. Customers can place their orders by texting him at 96233833 between 12pm and 3pm.

This closure marks the end of an era for Chef Kang’s, wrapping up a decade of culinary excellence on a perfect ten.
