POLL RESULTS: Majority of Yahoo readers don't exercise amid this pandemic
Let’s admit it; us social beings need that face-to-face push from our instructors to work harder at the gym. It’s tough not being able to work out without gym equipment at home and the lack of space can be further a deterrent.
In our poll last week, we asked you how many times you have exercised amid this pandemic, and 24 per cent of Yahoo readers voted 0 (we added ‘eating’ in jest), while 21 per cent of you exercise every day, seven times a week (an impressive feat!).
Following closely, 14 per cent of you exercise on average three times a week, which is good to get your heart racing.
Studies show that sitting for long periods is bad for your health, as it can increase the risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer, or even result in death, according to a report by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
As we continue to work from home during this partial lockdown, it is advisable to work out for 30 minutes using high-intensity interval training (HIIT) five days a week. This is an effective method for improving sports performance and stripping away body fat.
