Pierre Ngo picks up smoking
6 Nov – Pierre Ngo who has not smoked all his life had to pick up smoking while shooting "No Regrets", the series that turned his character, nicknamed Spareribs, into a household name.
"It was a terrible experience. I had to get someone to teach me how to roll a tobacco leaf as it was a period drama. I nearly choked to my death!"
The scene which required Ngo to say his lines while inhaling the make shift cigarette proved to be challenging when the smoke got to him so bad that he completely forgot his lines.
But that wasn't the only memorable scene Ngo had in "No Regrets". When he was required to cry in a death scene, Ngo said he got into character so deep that his tears just wouldn't stop falling.
"My fellow actors must have gotten a shock. They had to keep handing me tissues even after the shoot was done because I just continued crying."
Although touched by their concern, the actor declined the offer and continued with his weeping until he finally stopped.
