Phillies Fan Gets Body Slammed by Security After Celebrating Team's 10-0 Victory over Diamondbacks

The overzealous fan was taken into custody to the apparent joy of members of the Phillies' bullpen, who were nearby on the field

A fan who ran onto the field following the Philadelphia Phillies’ 10-0 rout over the Arizona Diamondbacks was body-slammed by a security guard — and the Phillies bullpen was there to catch it all!

As the man was tackled by security, members of the pitching staff were running onto the field to celebrate the decisive win in which the home team took a 2-0 series lead over the D-backs.

At least two Phillies pitchers showed their own jubilation by jumping up and down and tossing their hats in appreciation for the apprehension.

In various accounts on social media, the man took the hard hit and was then seen taken into custody. At the moment of impact, fans roared reflexively at the breach of protocol.

“Boom,” one man could be heard screaming, while others laughed at the improbable scene.

Just as exciting — for Phillies fans, at least — is the state of the NLCS, where the team stands two wins away from returning to the World Series for a consecutive year.

Last week, the Phillies enjoyed another type of raucous celebration, when they celebrated winning the NLDS 3-1 over the Atlanta Braves.

At the champagne-and-beer locker room bash, players wore super-sized goggles to fend off the seemingly never-ending flow of adult beverages.

Following a toast from manager Rob Thomson, Phillies players Bryce Harper, Trae Turner and rookie pitching sensation Orion Kerkering were among the ecstatic group, as they jumped around in sync to the team’s song “Dancing on My Own.”

While Kerkering paid homage to his star first baseman by wearing a shirt with the words “Atta Boy Harper,” catcher Garrett Stubbs and others donned overalls — which happen to have become another uniform of sorts for the team.

Even other Philly sports stars got in on the celebratory action, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.  Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, along with teammate Jordan Davis, were seen congratulating right fielder Nick Castellanos, while 76ers Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey were also there to spread the goodwill, the newspaper reported.

And since the team made it to the NLCS, even more stars have joined in on the cheering — for Game 1 on Monday, Travis and Jason Kelce took in the Phillies' 5-3 win.
