You know the saying, “The grass is always greener on the other side”? Well, it took a pandemic for many of us to discover what our backyard offers. One such venue is the culturally-rich Kampong Gelam district, popularly known as the hip ethnic Bugis area. So if you are racking your brains about how to spend a fulfilling weekend, or wish for a change in the scenery without heading overseas, try a staycation at the newly revamped Parkroyal on Beach Road.

Thanks to our multicultural heritage, there is much to explore, see and do. What's more, look out for the 2022 National Day package, where you get to enjoy 15 per cent off, including a sumptuous breakfast at their resident restaurant, Ginger (yes, the one with the incredible murals of Singapore’s rich flora and fauna). Designed by Singapore-based Australian designer Emma Maxwell, Ginger has recently been crowned winner in the Alfresco & Biophilic (Asia) category at Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.

Thanks to the recent image refresh, the hotel lobby evokes a kampung spirit and sense of community, harkening to its heritage and lush surroundings. Its botanic motifs and brushed gold accents complement the tropical plants and ferns adorning the lobby area. Moreover, the property’s 346 refreshed rooms are elegantly furnished with soothing tones making it conducive for work and relaxation. On the Club floors, artwork by local artists adorns the corridor walls in various rooms. And if you are looking out for a spacious balcony and bathtub to unwind in after a long day, look to the 42sqm Parkroyal Club Premier for a truly luxurious stay.

There’s plenty to do within and out of the hotel as well. Yahoo Shopping lists where you can start exploring.
