Dwayne Johnson's wax figure at a French museum is getting a redo after backlash about its skin tone.

Days after the Musée Grévin in Paris unveiled the Black Adam actor's life-size figure, Johnson, 51, spoke out about it, saying he would contact the museum to work on "updating" the wax figure.

"For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements- starting with my skin color,” he wrote on Instagram, including a laughing emoji.

"And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself," added Johnson, whose mom is Samoan and late father was Black.

Yves Delhommeau, managing director of Musée Grévin, said in a video on Instagram that they got a "big surprise" when the figure's "skin tone seemed too pale" when put under lights.

"We suddenly realized we might have got it wrong," he said in the clip.

Delhommeau said the team of artists worked from photos of Johnson, claiming the actor "looks very different from one photo to the next." He added that they would continue to improve the wax figure.

Variety reported Wednesday that the museum officially updated the figure, making the skin color darker before reinstalling it on display.

Veronique Berecz, a spokesperson for Musée Grévin, said, according to the outlet, they "found [Johnson's] reaction rather friendly when addressing the fact that his figure was indeed whiter than it should have been."

Berecz addressed the "white-washing" accusations by saying, "This has nothing do with it — we just made an honest mistake based on the photos we looked at. After we saw all these reactions on different blogs and social networks, we changed it immediately."

According to Musée Grévin's website, Johnson's "tattoos took the painters 10 days of painstaking work and a lot of research," and the eyes "had to be redone three times to avoid too dark a tint making the star's face too hard and erasing its warm aspect."
