One of Charles Barkley’s Most Popular Nike Sneakers Is Set to Return
With talks of a 2025 return for one of Charles Barkley’s most popular Nike signature shoe already making the rounds, yet another one of the 1990s-era NBA legend’s fan-favorite designs is also expected to return.
Early reports indicate that Barkley’s Nike Air Max2 CB 94 sneaker will restock in its original Phoenix Suns-inspired “Black/White/Pure Purple” colorway. The news comes by way of sneakermarket.ro, which adds that additional styles of the model are also expected to be released.

A Bunch of Nike Kobe 9 Sneakers Are Coming Out in 2025 - and They Should Be Easy to Get
Designed by Tracy Teague and originally released in 1994, the Nike Air Max2 CB 94 is arguably Barkley’s most memorable sneaker. It features four elastic support straps across the tongue — said to be inspired by the straps on a straitjacket as a nod to Barkley’s volatile personality — and a large, dual-chamber Air Max unit. Even metal mesh was used to reinforce the sneaker, making it a rugged option for basketball in the ‘90s.
These days, the Air Max2 CB 94 is beloved by fans as a lifestyle sneaker. While it has periods of unavailability, it’s one of Nike’s more frequently released retro designs. The original black-based colorway was last available in 2023, although it sold out quickly from most stockists.
Another one of Barkley’s signature shoes, the Nike Air CB 34, is expected to launch during the second half of ’25.
As of now, the Nike Air Max2 CB 94 is expected to launch during summer ’25, although an exact release date has not been confirmed.
