Olivia Rodrigo Got Her Hands on a Pair of TikTok’s Favorite Christian Louboutin Balletcore Cassia Lace Up Heels
Balletcore’s new favorite shoe has a new fan. On Tuesday, Olivia Rodrigo posted a carousel of images to Instagram. Within them was seemingly a Valentine’s Day gift that includes the Tolberone Olivia chocolate bar, a fruit platter and multiple images of Rodrigo herself.
In particular, in the images featuring Rodrigo she wears a look that features a frilly white custom Alessandra Rich dress, as well as diamond earrings and a silver ring from the brand Eera. The look was styled by the duo Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo.

In those images, the shoes that Rodrigo shows off are a pair of Christian Louboutin heels. The fancy styles are the brand’s sold-out Cassia heels. Made of crepe satin, the shoes feature a lace-up design, similar to that of a pair of ballet slippers. Expounding on those ballet inspirations, the toe box of the shoe is moulded like that of a pointe shoe, with a boxy, flat front. It also sports a small bow on the vamp.
The single-sole heel sits on a stiletto of almost four inches. The style has a red lacquered sole, which is a signature of Christian Louboutin. While Louboutin is sold out of the Cassia in both black and blush, other retailers have them available in limited sizes. They sell for $1,095.
The Cassia has been popular on TikTok with multiple content creators making videos about it. It’s been worn by celebrities including Ariana Grande. Grande wore the Louboutin Cassia heel in December to meet fans while promoting her film “Wicked.” She also chose the black version.
Other celebrities have opted for the platform version of the Cassia, named the Cassia Alta. Grande’s “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo wore that shoe in black to the Grammy awards on Sunday. It made her one in a group of women who wore platform styles to that event. Cardi B had kicked off the year in the Cassia Alta. In a post on Instagram she wore the shoe with a printed mini dress and the Kelly Lizard Mini handbag.
The Cassia Alta measures just over six inches with a thick platform. It is also sold out in black. But, instead of blush the company offers it in a multicolored print featuring roses. That style is available for $1,295.
Louboutin is a popular name in the footwear space. He launched. his namesake in 1991 and his designs are known primarily for their red soles. In Cardi B’s 2017 breakout hit “Bodak Yellow” she refers to them as “bloody shoes.” But even prior to that, in 2011 rapper Trina had a song called “Long Heels Red Bottoms” referring to Louboutin designs. His Pigalle heel became his first iconic pump design that quickly became a favorite of celebrities the world over.
He then updated the shoe and named it after Kate Moss, who was a massive fan. The resulting Kate and its taller sister style the So Kate, similarly have become icons. That shoe has become a favorite of celebrities as well with Zendaya notably wearing the So Kate.
This year Louboutin released an updated version of the Kate and So Kate named the Miss Z. According to the brand, the new style is inspired by Gen Z. That version sports an “everlasting” version of the legendary red sole.
