How the Yoo In Na and Ji Hyun Woo Couple was Born
A new star couple has stepped forth to declare its love. Ji Hyun Woo and Yoo In Na finally announced the dramatic birth of their dramatic couple.
The couple was poised for drama ever since the fateful fanmeeting for tvN’s Queen In Hyun’s Man held on June 7.
Ji Hyun Woo confessed his love for Yoo In Na on that day, and after much ado, the couple’s ordeal ended with Yoo In Na’s answer on June 18. What happened to the two lovebirds during the 12 days in between?
Ji Hyun Woo’s Confession
No one expected Ji Hyun Woo to confess the way he did.
The actor plunged everyone, even Yoo In Na herself, in shock on June 7 by confessing, “I love Yoo In Na” at the fanmeeting for Queen In Hyun’s Man.
The confession followed a question asked by fans who seemed to have caught on to the romantic tension between the two. Ji Hyun Woo said, “I want to become honest. I love Yoo In Na.”
Yoo In Na couldn’t seem to hide her confusion at what had happened. She said, “It seems that after [the fan meeting], we should have a serious talk,” but she continued to stay quiet long after the fanmeet.
The premature relationship was bombarded with criticism when news of Ji Hyun Woo’s upcoming enlistment hit the press.
Controversy ensued that Ji Hyun Woo was causing difficulties for Yoo In Na, who would continue to be active as an actress, when he would be away from the issue with his enlistment in July.
After his confession, Ji Hyun Woo also stayed mum. Once, however, he did resurface as if he couldn’t stand the media attention.
He tweeted on June 11, ‘Oh, and since a long time ago, nothing good ever came out of paying too much attention on other people’s business, so don’t mind me too much~ Everyone, be happy!’ and also said, ‘If the same situation came to me, I would do the same thing over again!’ to prove that his confession was indeed sincere.
A long 11 days since he made his confession, Ji Hyun Woo finally got his answer.
Yoo In Na’s Answer
Yoo In Na answered Ji Hyun Woo’s confession on her radio show.
In the live June 18 broadcast of KBS 2FM’s Volume Up, in which she serves as the host, Yoo In Na acknowledged that she was dating Ji Hyun Woo by saying, “So we are starting a beautiful relationship.”
The reason Yoo In Na decided to touch on her relationship was because photos that showed the two together had been circulated.
On the morning of the day she made her own confession, a media outlet had reported on how it had caught the couple on a late-night date.
Yoo In Na said, “So I called him to ask for a week’s time, which actually ran a little longer. It must have been eating him alive, but I finally called [Ji Hyun Woo], who patiently waited and we talked about this and that, walking in the park. I told him, ‘Now that Queen In Hyun’s Man is over, let’s begin as Yoo In Na’s man.’”
She added about the photos, “I knew we were being photographed, and I saw that the ‘V’ I flashed at the camera came out okay.”
Yoo In Na wasn’t expecting Ji Hyun Woo’s surprise confession either.
“I was really caught off guard, so I asked him why he did that. He said this. ‘Since I was born, I never asked my mom to buy me this or that. Even when I grew up, I never asked for clothes or a car, and I just never wanted anything. But for the first time, I felt greedy and didn’t want to lose this chance,′" said Yoo In Na. "It wasn’t because he wasn’t thinking about what could come in the future or that he wasn’t taking me into consideration, but because he was being as genuine as genuine could ever be."
Yoo In Na also opened up on when she had first realized something was going on between her and Ji Hyun Woo.
“I realized the feelings while filming the drama, but I was confused whether this was reality or just my drama role. So I decided to keep my personal feelings to myself until the end of the drama, and I’m thankful to Ji Hyun Woo for understanding and supporting me until then,” she said.
After becoming a public couple, nothing could stop them from being all lovey-dovey on broadcast. Yoo In Na left a little cute message for Ji Hyun Woo in the end.
“Mr. Ji Hyun Woo, if you’re listening, then you should quit smoking since it’s bad for you.”
