Natasha Zinko Pre-fall 2024

“I’m still camping — but it’s the winter version,” said Natasha Zinko, who pitched her tent and prepared for a cold night under the stars. She certainly came prepared, packing shearling, long johns and padded boots, putting a wintry spin on her outdoorsy pre-fall 2024 collection.

The collection could not have landed at a better time. Winter has finally begun to bite in England, with snow, whipping winds and freezing temperatures, and Zinko is familiar with the cold. She’s Ukrainian, and knows better than most designers how to keep warm.

Zinko worked shearling into everything from hulking, round-shouldered “muscle” jackets, to tall boots with motorcycle-style padding and chunky pockets, and swingy shoulder bags made in the shape of Y-front underpants.

Underwear took center stage, with those same Y-fronts cut and shaped into bondage-style dresses, tops and bodysuits held in place by thick elastic waistbands. Other underpants were transformed into long-john leggings or slim breeches, all with tab and zip embellishments.

While this collection had heft — see the beefy denim jackets with muscle-shaped padding and tufts of shearling — it also took in the clear winter skies, dotted with stars.

A glamorous sheer dress came dusted with sparkles picked out in the shape of muscles and bones, while hoodies and sweatpants featured sparkling X-ray shapes.

This collection got a special preview last month when Doja Cat wore some of the sparkling looks on stage during her North American tour, flexing her artsy Zinko muscles — and keeping warm.
