After months of feverish anticipation, the sixth and final season of Netflix’s The Crown has finally arrived.

The ten episodes follow the Royal family into the late Nineties and beyond – with a large focal point, of course, being Princess Diana. We see her unravelling relationship with Prince Charles, courtship of Dodi Al-Fayed and her inevitable, tragic death.

While previous seasons have been met with widespread critically acclaim, the reviews for The Crown’s closing number have been decidedly mixed, sweeping up a swathe of one and two star ratings.

However, one of the most spellbinding parts of The Crown has always been the lavish locations, and, in this regard, season six pulled out all the stops. One of the most breathtaking spots featured in the show is a stunning yellow Balearic villa featured in the opening episode.

While originally reserved for royalty (the real Princess Diana actually stayed there too), The Yellow Castle has now opened its doors to all and is available to book on Airbnb. Nestled near Puerto d'Andratx on the coast of Mallorca, Spain, the villa is accessible by both land and sea.

Fit for a queen (or princess), the regal retreat offers guests the opportunity to experience the grandeur and elegance showcased in the iconic TV series. The property was put up for sale in 2015 with an asking price of £70 million.

In the show, the property masquerades as of the Dodi Al-Fayed villa in St Tropez, where Diana and Dodi first meet, and where they return before their tragic trip to Paris.

Lush gardens surround a picturesque pool, hot tub, and terrace with shaded living and dining areas. For the adventurous at heart, an exclusive rock cave provides a unique retreat within the estate.

Complete with a whopping seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, sauna and private gym to boot, it’s no wonder it attracted the real-life Diana.

While it is available for rental on Airbnb, its weekly rates (starting at £26,862 in low season and reaching £44,660 in summer) might put off the everyday holidaymaker.
