Mark Chao: Family is more important than career!
29 Aug - If he has to choose between love and career, Mark Chao is confident that he will always pick the former over the latter.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who spoke about love at a brand event on the eve of Qixi Festival (also known as Chinese Valentine's Day), shared that his parents Allen Chao and Tai Yi-yu are the best example of an ideal love.
Mark stated that he would always look up to his actor father and learn from his example as to how to be a good husband.
"My mother is an independent person capable of relying on herself. They occasionally have their disputes, but my father will always take a step back. To me, this is not cowardice, but a different kind of courage," he said.
Mark, whose marriage to Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan is in its third year, stated that he also learned how important love is to him, more so than his career in showbiz.
"If I have to choose between career and my family, I will definitely choose the latter," he said.
The actor also stated that he is at the stage of his life where he is happy and in a peaceful state of mind.
"As long as my wife is with me, everything will be fine," he said.
