Lego opens a new certified store at Tampines Mall
SINGAPORE – A new Lego Certified Store (LCS) has opened its doors at Tampines Mall last Friday (23 Oct), a nearer location for the Easties in Singapore.
New features include Singapore’s first-ever Lego Art Wall, a Star Wars-themed mosaic display, built by adult fans of Lego. The pop culture theme will be refreshed from time to time to transform various cultural passions into art. Lego sets of these mosaics series are also on sale for fans to recreate them at home.
The store at Tampines mall is the first LCS in Singapore to have its own dedicated ‘adults corner’ where the more complicated sets such as the Lego Technic series and Lego Star Wars are displayed.
For the younger fans, a vertical play wall titled ‘Rebuild the World’ acts as a canvas for them to get creative and build their envisioned world through the Lego bricks provided. Otherwise, they can sit at the play table to create whatever they imagine or pose with the 3D Lego City Policeman model at the store entrance.
However, do take note that these play activities are not available now due to safety and hygiene reasons, and will resume according to the government regulations.
Another highlight of the store is the augmented reality kiosk, Digibox, where it visualises how the Lego sets will look like when assembled. Simply hold up a Lego box set to the camera and wait for the animation on the screen to start.
Fans will still be able to customise their own mini-figure at the Build A Minifigure Station, as well as the iconic Pick-A-Brick wall that allows shoppers to fill the container with as many bricks as they need to build their own creation. While these features are still available, do approach the staff for assistance as self-picking of bricks are not permitted at the moment.
Store opening promotions and rewards include a limited edition of the Lego Store Set, a Mindstorms box set and a Lego laptop bag with minimum purchases.
