Halloween may be just around the corner, but the internet churns out some pretty terrifying concoctions year-round. From Velveeta-filled chocolate truffles to a monstrous Taco Bell order, social media is constantly pushing the boundaries when it comes to edible spectacles. But the latest Costco food court hack may be the scariest thing we've seen all year. Behold the behemoth that is the "Jochizza". Warning: proceed at your own risk—even reading about this invention may cause heartburn and nausea.

What Is a "Jochizza?"

The Jochizza is a food court hack involving three different Costco food court staples: the pizza slice, the (famously $1.50) hot dog, and the Costco-exclusive chicken bake. The trend originated on social media with videos of people taking a Costco hot dog, replacing its bun with a chicken bake that'd been sliced down the middle like a bun, and topping it with a blanket of melted cheese, removed from a slice of Costco's cheese pizza (naturally). Then, the "Jochizza" can be topped with all your favorite hot dog toppings like ketchup, mustard, relish, and Costco's beloved diced onions.

The monstrous mashup is just the latest social media trend to riff off of Costco's limited-yet-treasured food court menu. Earlier this year, a trend called the "Forbidden Glizzy" went viral on social media. In that trend, people were biting each end off of a chicken bake, and poking a (once again bun-less) hot dog through the chicken bake, creating a sort-of giant pig in a blanket with a chicken bake. Next to the Jochizza, this trend now looks civilized and pales in comparison.

Why is it called a Jochizza? The chi- is from chicken bake and -zza is from pizza, but the jo- is likely from hot dog, since the mashup was created by a Mexican social media creator, @soyelarturito. In Spanish, the sound ho- would be spelled jo-, and thus, the Jochizza (pronounced ho-shee-tza).

How to Order a "Jochizza" at Costco

I'm begging you, please do not walk up to the counter at the Costco food court and try to order a "Jochizza" by name. You will quickly become the worst person in Costco. Instead, order a slice of cheese pizza, hot dog, and chicken bake. Put on a brave face and D.I.Y. your Jochizza right there in the food court so you're able to add your desired toppings.

Pro tip: the diced onions are likely only available by request, so ask nicely and the employees should give you a small cup of them to add to your Costco-rific creation. Then dig into what some are calling "the best Costco menu item" (off menu that is). Share with a friend, your family, or a small country's worth of people. Note: you may want to consult your doctor before ordering a Jochizza.

Many in the comments on this TikTok noted that the Jochizza is strikingly similar to a Cheesy Blaster, a parody food from the show "30 Rock". As the jingle for that fake food went "You take a hot dog, stuff it with some Jack cheese, fold it in a pizza, you got Cheesy Blasters!" And while that was a joke, this item is certainly no joke. As another person commented, "I have heartburn just looking at that." One thing is for certain: the next time I hit the Costco food court, I will be singing, "You take a hot dog, put it in a chicken bake, top it with some pizza, you got Jochizzas!"
