Kizik chief marketing officer Elizabeth Drori wants to ensure that all voices are heard and valued.

The industry veteran that joined the hands-free footwear brand last year from Sperry, noted that she focuses on creating opportunities for professional growth by encouraging women to take on leadership roles, setting career goals and providing mentorship along the way.

Drori also believes that the notion that some women don’t do enough to support each other is a myth. “I’ve seen countless examples of collaboration, mentorship, and encouragement among female colleagues, in industry groups, and of course among friends,” she told FN. “I don’t believe that there are a limited number of roles that are allocated to women – the perception of competition is a stereotype.”

As for what the industry needs to do to ensure women are rising to top positions, Drori suggested that it companies can address barriers is by holding leaders accountable for fostering an inclusive culture where people feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute fully. “Being aware of biases and ensuring promotion decisions are based on talent and potential is also very important,” she added.

Looking towards the next generation of leaders, the Kizik exec noted that it comes down to building confidence in future leaders.

“Empowering the next generation begins with building confidence —helping young women see themselves as capable leaders and decision-makers will set them up for success and have a ripple effect on future generations,” Drori said. “Representation also matters, so showing them role models who reflect their aspirations is crucial.”
