How Katy Perry Collections President Allison Bennett Is Paying It Forward to Next Gen Leaders: Women Who Rock

Allison Bennett who joined Katy Perry Collections as president in March, is always looking to pay it forward.

“I have been fortunate to work alongside exceptional and inspiring women who have significantly contributed to my professional growth and development,” Bennett told FN. “This impact remains a guiding principle for me, and I am committed to paying it forward. Within my organization, supporting and empowering women involves enhancing their visibility and presence and facilitating opportunities for new experiences that promote professional growth and advancement.  Women progressing in their career is a meaningful accomplishment for everyone involved.”

When it comes to empowering the next generation of female talent, Bennett believes that it is important to involve emerging leaders in the broader processes of the organization.

“As a leader, I recognize my vital role in their professional development and career journeys,” the executive noted. “By creating opportunities for them to observe and engage with higher-level business operations, I aim to enhance their performance in their current roles and better prepare them for future opportunities.  Their future success is built on foundational professional experiences that foster confidence and knowledge and equip them for the next steps in their careers.”

Overall, though, Bennett maintained that supporting female colleagues involves not only mentorship but also actively taking on a sponsorship role in their professional development and success.

“This includes enhancing their visibility and exposure within the organization, leveraging my professional and social capital to help expand their networks,” she said. “By providing strategic guidance and advocating for their accomplishments within the organization, I aim to help them identify and pursue paths for future growth and advancement.”
