Julia Barretto says she has graduated from love team

24 Feb – Julia Barretto recently described her departure from her previous love team with Joshua Garcia as a "graduation".

"I am blessed to have experienced that, don't get me wrong," said Barretto in an interview with ABS-CBN, "But I have graduated from that phase in my career. I am now able to just be free."

The actress stated that she is excited to be given the opportunities to work with other actors and actresses, which include Tony Labrusca, her co-star in the new iWant series, "I AM U".

"At this point, I'm just very grateful that I've been trusted with projects that are not the usual that I've done before, that I'm more free to do some scenes and some roles that take risks; that now I can take roles fearlessly; that now I can be the actress that I always wanted to be," she added.

At the same time, Barretto said that she is respectful of Joshua Garcia's decision to be in the love team with Janella Salvador, following the success of "The Killer Bride".

However, it is noted that Garcia previously shared in an interview that he - like Barretto - now prefers to fly solo and gain experience from working with various actors.
