Singapore’s first Olympic gold medalist Joseph Schooling has become the first man to appear on the cover of Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore in the magazine’s 17-year history.

The swimmer appears on the June issue of the magazine, dressed in a made-to measure BOSS tuxedo in his first-ever fashion cover.

The cover pays homage to Harper’s BAZAAR US’ February 1965 issue, which saw famous American actor Steve McQueen become the first man to grace the cover of a women’s fashion magazine.

Schooling joins a list of other celebrities who have appeared on the covers of Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore, including actress Kate Hudson, model Alessandra Ambrosio and singer Janet Jackson.

The June issue, which throws the spotlight on local trailblazers, is available on newsstands.
