Jolin Tsai's new album "Ugly Beauty" comes out next month
30 Nov – After much anticipation, Taiwanese pop diva Jolin Tsai finally shared the cover of her upcoming album, titled, "Ugly Beauty".
As reported on Epoch Times, the singer, who hasn't released a new album since 2014's "Play", revealed the good news on Instagram, writing, "This time, I want to show all the ugliness behind the perfect surface, prying open the emotions I have tried to bury. A story of horror, truth and fragility."
Speaking to the media about the upcoming album, Jolin revealed that she invited Mayday Ashin to collaborate with her, as well as Taiwanese writer Li Wei-jing.
"Sadly, Li passed away from cancer this month, so it's really regretful that Li won't be able to hear the finished song," she said.
Jolin was previously slated to release her album in mid-2018, but had to delay the recording after being diagnosed with herpes zoster (also known as shingles) earlier this year.
The upcoming album will be released on 26 December, in time for her performance at the upcoming Christmas event in Taipei.
It is noted that aside from Jolin, fellow singers Eve QAi and Tanya Chua will also be releasing their new albums in December.
