Joe Lam: I meant no disrespect towards Louisa Mak
7 Sep – Former lawyer and controversial social media personality Joseph "Joe" Lam continued to defend his previous statement about his girlfriend Hiromi Wada being prettier than ex-girlfriend Louisa Mak, saying that he meant no disrespect towards the latter.
Following the backlash over his social media post about the two women, Joe posted another message, saying that he was not attacking Louisa's looks in any way, and that the post was directed towards reporters who were disrespecting Hiromi and belittling her.
"It was unfair and as a boyfriend you must come forward [and defend her]. Since the reporter is so biased, I decided to correct their writing to what I think is a fact. I have no interest in mentioning the former, and never will. What I wanted was to fight back against the report," he said.
He then added in reiteration, "Hiromi Wada is pretty."
It was back on 31 August that Joe first voiced up over reports by a Hong Kong news outlet, which compared Louisa and Hiromi who were both at the 2020 Miss Hong Kong pageant, calling the latter "unremarkably plain" compared to the former.
Joe, who was angered by what he deemed as the media bullying Hiromi, went online and claimed that his girlfriend is "prettier" and has "better physique" than the former Miss Hong Kong 2015.
