Jackie Chan shares origin of his panda dolls
25 Apr - By now everybody knows that Jackie Chan would never go to any event without his two stuffed panda bears.
The actor, who has been seen with them at many red carpet events, including one at the Oscars last month, recently arrived at the 2017 China Music Awards with the two dolls, one in a striped dress and the other in a pair of blue jeans and grey shirt.
When asked about them, Jackie gave the same response about being a Panda Ambassador, and that the two dolls represent the two panda bears that he adopted after the Sichuan earthquake in 2009, which he called Cheng Cheng and Long Long.
However, he also shared how he got the two dolls in the first place.
"It's a long story, but when I was in the United Kingdom for a publicity tour, a fan sent me these two panda bear dolls as a gift. I decided to take them to different countries and take pictures of them with other celebrities, including Sylvester Stallone," said Jackie.
He shared that he plans to use the two dolls to earn money for charity.
"Fans around the world want to help me make t-shirts of these dolls and donate the proceeds. In future, I may also hold charity auction for the dolls," he added.
