7 May – Five years ago, Jack Black, one half of the Tenacious D duo, said that there wasn't going to be any sequel to their 2006 musical fantasy comedy, "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny".
Fast forward to 2018, Black is now saying there will be a sequel and what's more, it is planned for release in October this year!
"I don't know where you'll be able to see it, but we have decided that it's happening and it's coming out," Black was quoted – by AJC Music Scene – saying to the crowd at Shaky Knees Music Festival during the band's performance there today.
There's not much info yet on the second movie other than what's been revealed by Black.
Black and Kyle Gass starred in the 2006 movie, which follows the band's fictitious origin in the 1990s and the eponymous pick refers to Satan's pick that allows anyone using it to become a rock legend.
Even though it did not become a box office hit, it did garner a cult following thanks to its rocking soundtrack, which was the band's own second studio album, "The Pick of Destiny".
