Huang Xiaoming, Angelababy donate to disaster relief in Sichuan
21 Jun – Following wife Angelababy's recent earthquake experience, it was revealed that Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming has donated a hefty amount of money to the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation.
As reported on Mingpao, on 18 June, the Beijing-based foundation, which has also worked in the protection of the needy in Sichuan's cities – where a 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit earlier this week, confirmed the news in its statement to the media.
It read, "Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy contacted us on the night of the event and donated RMB200,000 - entrusting us to use it for the rebuilding of the disaster area and the people affected by it."
"We will use the money efficiently and will actively invest ourselves in disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction."
Angelababy was in Chengdu for work when the 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit the city of Yibin, followed by 5.2-magnitude aftershock that were felt in the neighbouring areas.
