Huang Xiaoming: I am not an A-list actor anymore

9 Jul – Actor Huang Xiaoming has confessed that he does not consider himself an A-list actor, at least not anymore.

As reported on Sohu, a video interview he did last year recently resurfaced, in which the actor looked down and smiled sorrowfully when the interviewer mentioned the word "A-list", and said that he felt that he had fallen off the line and was not qualified to be in that position anymore.

"The most critical condition for one to be an A-lister is to have a good work, but I haven't had a good project for a long time," he said.

Huang then added that he would prefer to be more relaxed and just enjoy what he wants to do instead of dwelling on the lack of new critical success.

Fans who saw the video immediately expressed their support for the actor, saying that they still see Huang as an A-list star. One netizen also stated that his most recent series, "Winter Begonia" was a great show.

Huang, who has starred in award-winning movies like "American Dreams in China", "You Are My Sunshine", and "Xuanzang", hasn't had the same successes for the past couple of years, having slowed down his work since tying the knot with Angelababy.
