Hello Kitty Taking Over McDonald’s Hong Kong, Taiwan & China this July
People love Hello Kitties and people love McDonald’s. When these two come together, they form an inevitable craze that seems to not only affect Singaporeans. Just this July alone, Hello Kitty is popping up in McDonald’s all over Asia. Check out the collection below, who knows Singapore may be next?
McDonald’s Hong Kong x Hello Kitty: Fruity Troops Collector’s Kit
A crossover between Hello Kitty and other popular Sanrio Characters, this Fruity Troops Collector’s Kit consists of 6 pcs of mini plushies. Each one sees Hello Kitty cross-dressed behind a fruit and the outfit of another Sanrio character including Gudetama, Cinnamonroll and Melody.
The entire set will cost you HKD $228 (approx HKD S$40), and it comes with 4 x $10 Food coupon, and a special edition picnic bag. Each individual piece costs additional HKD $20 with purchase of HKD $18 worth of food at McDonald’s.
There’s also 2 other sets of fruity troops that’s limited to McCafe & McDelivery orders in Hong Kong.
McDonald’s Taiwan x Hello Kitty: Farm Set
Starting from 13 July 2016, Taiwanese can grab one of these Hello Kitty hidden behind fruits and farm characters for just TWD $249 with purchase of McDonald’s value meal. They are also given the option to purchase one plushie without having the meal at TWD $299 (approx S$12.50) each.

McDonald’s China x Hello Kitty: Sanrio Bubble Set
Another crossover with Sanrio characters, Hello Kitty is dressed behind the iconic outfits of My Melody, Kerokerokeropi and Pompompurin. Each plushies costs CN¥ $35 (approx S$7) with purchase of anything in McDonald’s.
The entire McDonald’s China packaging had a makeover too!
