Hawick Lau denies rumours of divorce and new romance
25 Sep – Hong Kong actor Hawick Lau has recently dismissed allegations that he and wife Yang Mi have actually been divorced for the past two years.
As reported on Mingpao, allegations of a secret divorce was reportedly made by a British-Chinese woman named Britney, who - upon sharing a photo of her with Hawick on social media - responded to a comment from another netizen about the actor's marriage that he and Yang Mi have ended their marriage two years ago.
Tabloids immediately started digging about Britney herself, claiming that she has visited Hawick several times on the set of his movies and dramas, which sparked speculations that he is now dating her. It is also reported that she has met many celebrities including Aaron Kwok, Eason Chan, and Jeremy Lin.
However, when asked about the rumours recently, Hawick's studio denied both rumours, saying that the actor doesn't know Britney personally.
As for the photo Britney shared on social media, his rep clarified that Hawick was only granting the woman's wish for a photo.
It is noted that Hawick and wife Yang Mi have rarely been seen together for the past couple of years due to their busy schedule, which is how such rumours often emerge.
