"The Greed of Man: The Movie" is not confirmed

24 Apr - TVB Executive Tsang Sing Ming recently clarified rumours about an upcoming film adaptation of its 1992 hit series, "The Greed of Man", saying that nothing has been set in stone just yet.

As reported on HK Top Ten News, previously, it was rumoured that the company has planned to make a film version of the Adam Cheng and Sean Lau-starrer, after it received a commendable viewership ratings in the first week of its rebroadcast.

The film, it was reported, will be one of the many other small-screen-to-silver-screen adaptation projects that the company will do, aside from the already released "Triumph in the Skies", the currently filming "Return of the Cuckoo", and the upcoming "Line Walker" the movie.

When asked about the plan recently, Tsang admitted that the company is determined to expand its film business and that "The Greed of Man" is indeed the current hot topic.

However, Tsang said that the plan is still in its initial phase, and the preparation - including getting the stars and writing the script, will need a lot of time. Thus, nothing has been confirmed for the time being.

Meanwhile, Sean Lau stated that he has heard of the rumours but will only make his decision when the project is finalised.

"I will consider it when it's confirmed," he said.
