29 Mar - With the return of former TVB stars such as Gallen Lo and Patrick Tse to the network, it seemed inevitable that Gordon Lam will be asked about his plans with his former employer.
However, according to On CC News, the movie star stated that he has a better idea than starring in a new TVB drama - that is to produce one instead.
"Rather than shooting a drama for three months, I would rather TVB give me half a year so I can produce a drama for them. That would surely make me happier," he said.
The actor has already produced various movies since he left the company, including the 2015 "Get Outta Here" and the 2010 "Gallants", which became one of the highest grossing films in Hong Kong that same year and won Best Film at the 30th Hong Kong Film Awards.
When asked why he wants to produce rather than star in a drama, Gordon stated that TVB has a lot of talented rookies whose potential was kept hidden due to the company's failure to put it forward.
Gordon stated that he hopes that as a producer, he will be able to help cultivate these new actors' potential that are often overlooked.
