Gillian Chung wins praise from Joker Xue
23 May – Gillian Chung couldn't help but feel elated, after her first performance on the hit reality show, "Sisters Who Make Waves" received a praise from the original singer.
As reported on Oriental Daily, in the said show, which was officially launched on 20 May, Gillian appeared in a long blue dress and a black lace mask and performed Joker Xue's "Extraterrestrial Objects" - receiving positive reactions from the fans.
She later posted the said performance on her Weibo account and wrote, "For the first time I tried to sing in blindfold."
Unexpectedly, Joker reposted the said video and wrote, "Thank you, Gillian, for singing "Extraterrestrial Objects". This song is my favourite, and the female version is also very good. I hope you will do well in the competition."
In response, Gillian commented, "Thank you, Xue, for writing such a nice song. I will be cheering for the competition."
On the other hand, this year's competition boasts a number of big stars including China's Wu Jinyan and Crystal Zhang, Taiwan's Cyndi Wang and Valen Hsu, Hong Kong's Charlene Choi and Myolie Wu, as well as an appearance by South Korea's Jessica Jung.
