"Fullmetal Alchemist" announces two new live-action films

4 Mar – In celebration of its 20th anniversary, it was announced that not one, but two live-action "Fullmetal Alchemist" movies will be released this year.

As announced by the official Twitter account of the said film, the two sequels will be titled "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter", with sequel one subtitled as "Scar the Avenger", while sequel two is called "The Last Transmutation."

The films are slated to debut in Japan in May and June this year, though no word as to when it will be released worldwide.

"Scar the Avenger" is said to follow the Elric brothers' conflict with the mysterious killer called Scar, which will then set the stage for the final battle in "The Last Transmutation". It will star Ryosuke Yamada as Ed and Atomu Mizuishi voicing Al, with the addition of Mackenyu Arata as Scar.

It is noted that the original live-action film was released on Netflix in 2018, a year after its Japanese debut.
