In celebration of its 50th anniversary, Foot Locker has peeled back the curtain on a collection of eight commemorative sneakers from five different brands.
The Foot Locker 50th anniversary sneaker collection pulls silhouettes from Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Converse and Puma. Each of the sneakers makes use of black and/or white along with gold accents invoking the retailers’ golden anniversary.
Nike contributes the Air Force 1 Low and Air Max Plus, both of which feature a black and white gradient. Adidas is represented by the Samba and Superstar, both of which are black-dominant, while New Balance adds the black-heavy 2002R and white-forward 550. Rounding out the mix is a black and gold Converse Weapon Ox low-top and LaMelo Ball’s Puma MB.01 emphasizing black.
“As we mark our 50th anniversary, Foot Locker proudly remains the undisputed ‘Heart of Sneakers,'” Frank Bracken, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Foot Locker, Inc., said in a press release. “We extend our deepest gratitude to our brand partners for their unwavering support, from collaborating on our exclusive collection to their support of our Lace Up Plan. Together, we are setting the stage for the next 50 years of growth and innovation.”
In addition to the sneakers, Foot Locker will also release 50th anniversary apparel from Nike, Adidas and New Balance. Each sneaker in the collection is available in men’s sizing, and the Air Force 1 Low adds grade school. The MB.01 will also be available in pre school and grade school sizing.
The Foot Locker 50th anniversary sneaker collection will begin releasing September 9 through Foot Locker’s website and select locations. Pricing for the men’s sneakers ranges from $100 to $155.
