SINGAPORE — The reactions say it all. If you don’t know by now, South Korean celebrity couple Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo have filed for divorce less than two years after they married in October 2017, shocking fans across Asia.
The two stars actually quietly dated before filming Descendants of the Sun, early 2015. It was during the first script reading session of the drama, that they met officially. Even on set, the Songs were flirty on set, and their feelings soon intensified. After the filming ended, they were spotted dining and shopping in New York but their agency dismissed rumours of the romance.
On 3 June 2016, the Songs turned up at Baeksang Arts Awards, hand-in-hand, thus cementing their love story. Their drama Descendants picked up a Grand Prize and the couple won popularity awards.
