The famous bak chor mee stall dates back to the 80s when it opened at Luh Yuan Restaurant back in Eunos. In 2014, they made a sudden closure with no announcement made.

While researching on the history of this stall, when Ming Ji Mushroom Minced Meat Mee closed, many netizens were left with questions with regards to their next location.

Well, after an 8 year long hiatus, I am here to share the good news of the newly re-opened stall, which is now owned and operated by 2nd generation owners who will be continuing the legacy from their parents.

Without any news or media announcement, the stall started out humbly at a new location with new owners. It’s as if they had a change of identity! Newly opened in Dec 2022, the stall’s re-opening marks a great start to 2023.

You can anticipate traditional bak chor mee with Ming Ji Mushroom Minced Meat Mee. They serve up Mushroom Minced Meat Dry (S$4.50), which comes with springy egg noodles accompanied with minced pork, pork slices, pork balls, fish maw and liver. And finally, garnished with a slice of fresh lettuce!

The surprising factor is the bits of tee poh at the bottom of the bowl… This makes the sauce extra savoury and full of umami. And yes, the sauce tastes the same as before!

The soup however is the main attraction for many, as it’s served with a runny egg. The yolk breaks into the delicious broth, creating an eggy-starchy consistency.

With the reopening, I am glad that young owners are taking the leap of faith to continue their family legacy.

Ming Ji Mushroom Minced Meat Mee, you’ve been dearly missed!
