Fala Chen wants to break into Hollywood
7 May – Now that she has finished her studies, Fala Chen revealed that she plans to get back to her acting career and expand her talent even further.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress who spoke to the media of her plans after graduation, shared that she intends to try to break into Hollywood, especially since the current American film market has changed a lot from its past days.
"Women have more opportunities to perform nowadays. Some movies also call for more diversity - with Asians, Hispanics, and black people having equal opportunity. I am optimistic about the development," she said.
When asked if she has her own limits when it comes to acting, Fala stated that she will not let herself be trapped into playing only certain stereotypes.
At the same time, she admitted that she has been receiving a lot of offers from mainland and Hong Kong studios.
"I am currently reviewing the scripts and will choose the project based on the suitability of the character," she said.
As for stage plays, Fala said that she has had enough of that for now.
"I have done a lot of Shakespeare dramas during my school years. So now I just want to play characters of my own age," she said.
On the other hand, Fala admitted that she hasn't received any calls from her former employer, TVB.
