Emily Wong denies issue with TVB

24 Jul – Miss Hong Kong 2017 second runner-up Emily Wong has denied speculations that she is leaving TVB due to lack of major projects.

As reported on Mingpao, the Miami beauty who appeared at the press conference of US drama, "Instinct" recently, shared that there isn't any issue between her and TVB that triggered her decision not to renew her 15-month contract with the company.

"The company had actually given me a lot of job opportunities for the past year. I was very satisfied," she said.

Emily stated that as a graduate of fashion design, she would rather focus on developing a career in the related field.

"I won't regret my decision. There are still many things in life that I want to try," she said, adding that her poor Cantonese also made it difficult for her to work as an actress.

As for this year's contestants for the Miss Hong Kong pageant, Emily said that she is confident that they will all do well.

"But I hope that all the contestants who have poor grasp of Cantonese to work hard in getting more fluent in the language," she said.
