Elaine Yiu not pressured by "Realm" viewership ratings
29 Jun – Although her drama "Succession War" is set to compete with good friend Nancy Wu's "Deep in the Realm of Conscience", TVB actress Elaine Yiu is confident that the former will do well on its own.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress who appeared at a brand event recently, said that she is not worried about "Succession War's" performance in the viewership ratings, despite the fact that it is also a costume series just like the aforementioned palace drama.
""Succession of War" is a male-dominated drama, while "Deep in the Realm of Conscience" revolves around female characters. There is no overlap. I believe that if a drama has a great storyline and production, people will watch it," she said.
Elaine jokingly added that her drama also has the advantage of casting many attractive male stars, including lead actor Ruco Chan, who stars as Heshen, a powerful official in the Qing Dynasty.
The drama, which premiered on 26 June, details the events that ultimately lead to Heshen's death. It co-stars Natalie Tong, Shaun Tam, Joel Chan, and Jonathan Cheung.
