It would be fair to say that the circuit-breakers announced by PM Lee on 3rd April are unprecedented in the history of Singapore. Along with new measures to further enforce social distancing, the announcement also comes with more extreme moves to limit crowds in public areas and keep people at home. This, unfortunately, means that dining in for a meal at your favourite restaurant is no longer permissible. As the whole nation of food-loving Singapore starts working from home, worries about a sedentary lifestyle begin to set in.
Sure, you can run a lap around your estate, but the truth is, now that you don’t have to travel to work, an inactive life is slowly becoming a norm. If a boost of endorphins through exercise is not enough, you may want to consider switching up your diet to include healthier, and more wholesome food that leaves you satiated without the nasty saturated fats from instant noodles and chips. Here, I’ve laid out 10 dining establishments that deliver healthy, wholesome food to your doorstep for a better and cleaner diet this month.
Limaa is that rarefied place that serves exclusively healthy, your-body-is-your-temple kind of food that I believe anyone would enjoy eating. It is the brainchild of Aidah and Zakiah, both mothers and cousins, who were moved to create a food establishment that runs on their passion for healthy and clean living. Their menu is chock full of dishes that cater to a wide range of dietary requirements and options. Choose from carb-free dishes, gluten-free nachos, and a generous serving of spirulina blended with sweet mango and pomegranate. Oh, and don’t forget their Açaí bowls—It’s a God-send on a hot, dry, and parched day
We recommend: Limaa Bundle A
Chicken rosti, beef protein bowl, lemonade juice, ananas mint, smoothie acai bowl.
Limaa offers islandwide delivery from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm and self-collection between 11am - 5pm. They will also be collaborating with other establishments such as Julie Bakes and Moosh.sg to consolidate all orders under one platform. Order here. Tiong Bahru Bakery
The home of the handmade croissant also serves gut-friendly food that on appearance, hardly looks healthy. But it is. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. From being the go-to place for the best French pastries, Tiong Bahru Bakery has rejuvenated their menu to include food created by Chef Paul Albert who studied at Institut Paul Bocuse and climbed up the ranks at Michelin starred restaurants in France and Rio. Look forward to dishes such as the Korean inspired Chayote Kimchi & Mung Bean Salad that comes in a heap of mung beans, chayote (a type of squash) and turnip kimchi, watercress, and pea shoots and a Miso whole wheat spaghetti with broccolini—a vegetarian delight, and a nod to sustainability with every part of the broccolini used to good effect.
We recommend: Rainbowl Rice

Believe me when I say that I am not understating how serious Afterglow is about plant-based food. In fact, I reckon its moniker comes from that beautiful and radiant glow one gets from the rush of partaking in a healthy activity be it exercising or indulging in food that comes from Mother Earth. Here, the menu is strictly free from eggs, refined sugar, and artificial sweetener. Almost every item is made from scratch in small batches and is gluten-free—except for the bread and flatbread, of course.
This reverence to the belief that food is made to grow from a seed into a fruit or herb shows in dishes such as raw cheesy kale chips, lentil flaxseed nuggets, and raw nut ‘cheese’ platter. In light of the recent COVID-19 circuit breaker introduced in Singapore, Afterglow is rolling out a special menu for Takeout and Delivery Islandwide so you get to enjoy a clean, complete plant-based meal in the comfort of your home.
We recommend: Cuban Burger
3 bean patty, romaine, cucumber slices, purple cabbage slaw, guacamole, tomato salsa.
Delivery is available through Deliveroo and Grabfood. If these two services do not cater to your area, you may order directly with their islandwide delivery. They offer free delivery for orders above $50. For orders below $50, a delivery fee of $10 will be charged. Do refer to the website below for the latest promotions and opening hours.
Self pick-up is also available.

Original Sin is Singapore’s first and only Mediterranean vegetarian restaurant in Singapore, named after the famous fresco painted in the Sistine Chapel. Here, the vegetarian menu is an amalgamation of the Mediterranean and a reverence for healthy cuisine—both crafted under the expert eye of culinary director Marisa Bertocchi. Like most places with a similar slant, the food here can be prepared gluten-free, but additionally, there’s also an option to have your food sans onion and garlic.

There’s a term in Danish that denotes a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality mixed with a feeling of contentment or well-being—hygge. More commonly used in describing a way of life, here at HAAKON, their vision is empowerment through hygge and superfoods. Their mission is to help everyone stay strong and be properly nourished through serving unique, incredibly delicious, and healthy food in a space that is warm and inviting.
The menu is crafted to be inclusive for all diets, with a vast array of options for vegan, gluten-free, and those observing paleo. The mainstay at HAAKON are their bowls—poke, açaí, grain, salad, and specialty. Just by looking at the vibrant colours, one will know that these bowls are packed with life-enhancing ingredients that are clean, and nutritious, and always served fresh. I’ve tried their Nut Butter Açaí Bowl, and honestly, nothing else comes close in terms of flavour and taste.
We recommend: Ginger Ponzu Steak & Soba
Grilled steak, onsen egg, grilled gochujang oyster mushroom, wakame seaweed, soba noodles, ginger ponzu sauce.
HAAKON is introducing a new self-ordering option for pick up and islandwide delivery.
Order meal combos via delivery or pick-up and, depending on your meal combo option, get either an Acai bowl at 50% off or free.
