Eason Chan announces online charity concert

10 Jul – Following the footsteps of performers like Aaron Kwok and Sam Hui, Eason Chan recently announced that he will also be holding an online concert for charity soon.

As reported on Mingpao, the news was shared by the Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association, saying that the upcoming concert, "Live Is So Much Better with Music" will be streaming live on the internet at 6am and 5pm.

In a video shot by Eason that was aired at the press conference, the singer, who sat in an empty Hong Kong Coliseum, saying that he has never seen the venue so quiet before, and began reminiscing of his time performing there in the past.

"With the pandemic still going on, no one would be able to predict how bad the situation would get. But tomorrow will be a new day, a new beginning," he said.

The upcoming concert, which will involve around 100 employees, will implement strict rules to ensure the safety of both Eason and all who would be involved. Only the singer and 30 band members will be on stage during the performance.

On the other hand, the Hong Kong Live Performance and Production Industry Association stated that they have established the Pandemic Relief Fund that will be used to help those who are jobless or without income for the past half year. They added that they also had the support of Yan Chai Hospital.
