Drake’s Never-Before-Seen OVO x Air Jordans Surface, but Don’t Expect Them to Be Released
An unexpected Drake sneaker hit the internet Wednesday in two colorways, but it’s a near certainty that the pairs won’t be released to the public.
The shoes in question were a collaboration between the rapper’s October’s Very Own (OVO) imprint and Jordan Brand featuring two unreleased colorways of the Air Jordan 9. As typical of previous OVO Air Jordans, the shoes are fashioned in white and black-based colorways with accents of metallic gold throughout.

A Rarely Seen Fragment Design x Air Jordan Sample Surfaced, but Don't Expect It to Come Out
Both of the pairs were shared by sample sneaker collector @ayeelectric_ on Instagram and feature premium leathers and translucent rubber outsoles, the latter of which display “OVO” logos. The black pair features a glittery mudguard and heel overlay, while the white iteration opts for a textured leather look.
From 2016 to 2018, three OVO x Jordan sneakers were released including the Air Jordan 8, Air Jordan 10 and Air Jordan 12. The final release was February 2018’s Air Jordan 8 in black and white before the collaboration took a hiatus. At the time, Drake was rumored to jump ship to rival Adidas, but that partnership ultimately never panned out and the artist ended up back with Nike, where he launched his ongoing Nocta line.
The newly seen Air Jordan 9s add to a cache of unreleased Drake sneakers including numerous Air Jordan 3s, Air Jordan 11s and more.
Given that the OVO x Jordan Brand collaboration has been dormant for years, it’s likely these sample pairs — which are said to be one-of-ones — will remain unreleased. Instead, fans can look forward to new colorways of Drake’s Nocta x Nike Air Force 1 including a “Pink Foam” look.
