Dean Siu admits breakup with Harriet Yeung
6 Apr – After more than three years of relationship, Hong Kong screenwriter and artiste manager Dean Siu revealed that he and actress Harriet Yeung have called it quits.
According to On CC, on 2 April, Dean took to Facebook to confirm the news, saying that they have actually broken up last June, and that he was surprised that the media didn't get the wind of it until now.
However, Dean stressed that Harriet is not at fault, as the actress had tried her best to save the relationship.
"For the past ten months, Harriet has helped me cover up the truth about our relationship. She even went to visit relatives and friends with me during the Lunar New Year," he said.
Singing praises of the actress, Dean blamed himself for not being good enough for her.
"As her boyfriend and manager, we became the closest companion for each other. She was definitely the woman I wanted to marry and I had plans to propose to her. Even my family loves her as much as I do," he said.
"The problem is with me. My condition makes it difficult for me to get along with others. [...] When love becomes hurt, I begin to question, what is the root of love? I think if I really love her, I should let her leave and live a happy life. This woman has done a lot for me," he said.
Dean also stressed that there is no need for anybody to be sorry for him, and that he and Harriet are still friends with each other.
"I am still her manager, and her closest friend. I hope it will last forever," he added.
