Dato' Jovian Mandagie comes clean about divorce
6 Dec – Dato' Jovian Mandagie recently revealed that he and wife, Nina Ismail Sabri have actually been separated since August.
The fashion designer and the businesswoman opened up about their divorce on social media on 5 December, saying that their marriage has evolved instead into a friendship that will last a lifetime.
"In August, we mutually decided to end our 10-year marriage for reasons we believe are best. We've discovered that as friends and co-parents to Jeanelle, we share a different kind of love that we have come to appreciate. Ensuring Jeanelle's happiness remains our top priority, and so far, we've been doing wonderfully, Alhamdulillah. Our love towards our parents and families have not changed either. We have faith in Allah's plan, knowing He is the greatest planner," they wrote.
Jovian and Nina stated that they were touched by the lovely comments from netizens about their relationship during a live session on TikTok previously, which prompted them to come clean about the change in their status.
"We felt it was important for us to share this with all of you. While this news may be unexpected, please trust that we are both in a good place. Whatever you see on both our social media for the past four months is as real as it gets. We can't possibly hate or even have a tinge of dislike for each other after sharing a life together for almost a decade," they said.
The fashion designer married his wife and daughter of the former Malaysian Prime Minister in December 2013. They have only one daughter together, Jeanelle Nika Mandagie, who is now six.
