Costco’s Chicken Coop Comes Together Quick—And it’s CHEEP!

I’m usually not surprised by anything Costco sells anymore. After they announced their own apartment complex, nothing really shocks me. That was, until I learned the giant retailer is selling chicken coops—yes, chicken coops.
According to a now viral clip by Laura Lamb of CostcoHotFinds, the retailer is selling the OverEZ Farmhouse Large Chicken Coop for a whopping $1,899.99. And look—it’s expensive, but before you raise your eyebrows at that price, it comes with a *ton* of handy features that make it a worthy investment.
The coop holds up to 15 chickens (!!) and includes a feeder, a waterer, and five nesting boxes. They’re super-sized too, measuring 74 inches long and 60 inches wide. Material-wise, it’s extremely durable thanks to its Amish craftsman construction (that's also UV-protected and food-safe, if I might add!) and moisture-resistant flooring. Plus, it boasts some cool features like a radiant barrier ceiling that keeps the coop cool on hot summer days and two large vents for easy airflow.
Oh, and did I mention the coop has a water runoff roof design? Yep, rainwater and any extra moisture will flow off the coop’s roof, keeping the nesting boxes nice and dry. The waterer holds up to 12 gallons and sifts out clean water without any maintenance. It also has no-waste, drip-free nipples that allow three chickens to drink at once. And the feeder can carry up to 50 lbs of feed and be used indoors or outdoors. Whatever is to your liking.
Now, let’s talk installation. I’m not a handy girl—I’m quick to order a handyman from Task Rabbit—but this feeder takes only 60 minutes to assemble. You’ll just need a couple of hands and screw gun before you’re ready to go.
Don’t just take my word for it. Shoppers ~love~ this coop for its heavy-duty construction, easy assembly, and weather protection. “I suggest this coop if anyone doesn't have the time or resources to build a coop from scratch,” one reviewer wrote. “Quality work at a reasonable price and it was delivered right to my driveway! My chickens and I love it.”
Another raved about the coop’s “top-notch Amish craftsmanship,” noting that they’ve “purchased plenty of products over the years, but this one truly stands out in terms of quality and durability.”
If you’re looking for a coop, this one from Costco is spacious, sturdy, and easy to assemble. But if you can’t get behind its price (fair), check out these dupes that are just as durable and functional but come at a much lower price point.
