An award-winning clifftop home in Wales that featured on Grand Designs and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! is now on the market.
Occupying a spectacular panoramic location overlooking Cardigan Bay, Cefn Castell's impressive build was documented on Grand Designs in 2014.
Owners Rob and Kay enlisted the help of Stephenson Studio to create 'a family home that maximised views, the site location, and reflected their love of art and sculpture'. Rob and Kay are now looking to sell their masterpiece to take on a new project.
Since its completion, it has won RIBA's Welsh Architecture Award and was shortlisted for RIBA's House of the Year in 2015, along with other accolades. The glass-fronted property is also where campmates first met on the 2021 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! before heading into the jungle.
The design concept is inspired by Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, particularly his use of straight lines, right angles and primary colours. Sliding glass panels provide access to the garden, while a kitchen by Callaghan Interiors of London comprises a range of gloss cabinets with contrasting accents and luxury integrated appliances.
The sitting area features a luxury log burner and exceptional views across the glistening water. There are also three bedrooms with bespoke wardrobes, with the first floor bedroom providing a minimalist ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and bath.
'Cefn Castell's striking design is a perfect juxtaposition against the home's natural surroundings on the Llŷn Peninsula coast,' says Adam Palmer, associate director at Strutt & Parker in Chester. 'This undoubtedly makes it somewhat of a celebrity in this corner of Wales; mention the Grand Designs home and locals will know where you mean. It certainly isn't an architectural style that you'll find elsewhere locally either, which really makes it a unique opportunity for a prospective buyer.'

Luckily for the new owners, it takes just minutes to access the beach, while the seaside town of Criccieth – which has shops, pubs and a great community – is just a 10-minute walk away.
