Chen Kun's new period drama to premiere on Netflix

3 Sep – Chen Kun's upcoming drama, "The Rise of Phoenixes" is set to premiere on the OTT media services provider, Netflix.

As reported on HK01, the drama which is loosely based on the Tianxia Guiyuan novel "Huang Quan", is about Ning Yi, the sixth prince of the Tiansheng Kingdom who is plotting vengeance over the wrongful conviction of his brother.

The upcoming 70-episode drama, which co-stars Ni Ni, will be premiering on Netflix in mid-September, with 15 episodes going live every Friday.

"The Rise of Phoenixes", which has already made its debut in China back in August, is not only publicised as Chen's television comeback, but also marks Ni Ni's first television drama since her debut as an actress.

Chen's last drama was the 2008 "Remembrance of Dreams Past". He also starred in another drama this year, "Lost in 1949".
