Charmaine Sheh releases her red lipstick collection
28 May – Charmaine Sheh recently revealed that it was her character Consort Xian in the 2018 hit drama, "Story of Yanxi Palace" that inspired her new lipstick collection, which was released as part of her new cosmetic brand, Sh Lips.
As reported on On CC, the actress, who unveiled her collection recently, shared that she got the idea to release her own product after her character Consort Xian underwent a full transformation to fully become the Step Empress.
"The character needed to show off her domineering authority, and she begins to use a more vibrant shade of red. But I couldn't find the right shade that I want in real life, and had to play around with different shades to get the one I want. I thought, if I could release my own collection of red lipsticks, it would be very satisfying," she said.
She also quoted novelist Eileen Chang, saying that a woman needs can go bare faced, but not without a lipstick as it could make a person shine.
"I fully agree. I think lipsticks are magic. It helps a person to look fresher," she said.
Charmaine revealed that there are 12 shades of red in her collection, which she hopes would enable its wearer to feel unique and attractive.
