Charles Chan involved in a helicopter crash in Norway

23 May - TVB chairman Charles Chan was revealed to have experienced a near-death situation recently when his helicopter crashed into the water in Norway.

As reported on Mingpao, the accident, which occurred on 10 May, happened in Bergen, when the pilot lost control while attempting to land the helicopter on the luxury superyacht Bacarella, said to be owned by Charles.

The helicopter then crashed in the fjord outside the harbour, according to Norway's air accident investigation board.

Three men on board the helicopter were injured, including its British pilot.

Charles involvement in the accident was not reported until a few days ago, when it was revealed that he sustained minor injuries in the crash.

TVB has declined to address the reports, although its CEO Mark Lee was quoted saying that the reports were roughly correct, and that Charles has now return to Hong Kong.
