Carmaney Wong on being the most inactive Miss HK

3 Sep – Carmaney Wong recently admitted that it was a bit challenging being Miss Hong Kong 2019, not because of the bulk of activities she has, but the lack of it due to the pandemic.

As reported on Mingpao, the beauty queen who recently relinquished her duty as the new Miss Hong Kong was crowned, stated that she originally planned to complete her one-year service as the beauty queen before joining showbiz, only to have most of her activities cancelled following the spread of COVID-19. Her exposure was so low that she was almost forgotten by the public.

When asked if she was envious of other Miss Hong Kong alumni who have been getting more work than her, Carmaney denied it, saying that everybody has different responsibilities and opportunities.

"I think winning Miss Hong Kong is a very good thing that makes me very proud, especially when people come up to me to take photos when I'm walking down the street. It makes me feel happy," she said.

Carmaney stated that while a lot of people think she was not doing anything, she actually has received a lot of offers - just that the current situation does not permit it.

"I am still very confident. I believe there is a chance for me. I won't think too much about what other people say," she said.
