okto crowns its first okto Star

After three months of grueling auditions and intense training sessions, Muhammad Noor Jafny Bin Mohd Nazri has been crowned the winner of the inaugural okto Star, a talent search competition to find the next face of okto.

The 13-year-old blew the judges away with his soulful rendition of Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are", along with his breathtaking dance moves and acting skills.

Nicknamed "The Justin Bieber Lookalike", Jafny will now get an opportunity to star in a key role in one of okto's major productions, appear in various other okto programmes as host or guest star as well as front okto's next major branding campaign.

Commenting on his win, Jafny said: "The competition was tough because we had to dance, sing and act. But I worked hard and I am happy I won."

"We are impressed by the exceptional high quality of performances put up by all the contestants. Jafny, in particular, exhibited confidence and the ability to connect with the judges, his fans and the public," said Catherine Yap, senior programming director for okto.

Hundreds of kids aged nine to 14 years old had auditioned for their shot at stardom but only ten kids were selected as the finalists of okto Star. The grand finals of okto Star saw the top five finalists showcase their talents in intense judging rounds of dancing, singing and acting.

The repeat telecast of the one-hour grand finale of okto Star will be shown on Sunday, 25 March at 12pm on okto.
