1. How did you start your career as a DJ?

I took part in the 987 Radio Star competition about 5 years back while I was still in university!

2. Can you describe what a typical day is like for you?

Now that I’m doing the evening drive-time show, The Shock Circuit, most of my shoots, meetings, (and the occasional gym session) happen in the day.

I get in to the office after lunch to get the evening show planned and sorted! If I do have a gig after my show ends at 8pm… then that would be a pretty long day for me!

3. What’s your morning beauty regime?

I actually swear by this minty Japanese morning mask. It’s a one minute mask which is perfect for people who are constantly pressed for time (ahem, like me) and it promises to cleanse, tone and brighten your skin! I follow up with a hydrating serum and lots of sunblock.

4. What’s your night-time beauty regime?

I interchange between using Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Facial Oil and Skin Inc’s Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask!

When I have extra time, I try to pamper my skin with Estee lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask or SKII’s Facial Treatment sheet mask. Don’t forget about your eye area though – Shiseido’s Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate does the job for me.

5. What are your current favourite beauty products? Why?

I always sleep with air-conditioning on, so I swear by piling on several layers of Aesop’s Rosehip Seed Lip Cream just before bed. It’s hydrating, smells good and doesn’t feel greasy on the lips.

I recently got hooked on Clé de Peau Beauté’s Correcteur Visage Concealer, it has excellent coverage especially on days where I have no time for make-up! It glides on perfectly and fixes my panda eyes instantly.

6. What is the most common beauty mistake you’ve heard or seen Singaporeans making? How would you wish to correct it?

Using the wrong shade of foundation or BB cream. I think we need to understand that some products oxidise faster than others, especially because of our humid weather. As a result, it might give us an ashy finish that doesn’t complement our skin tones.

Another problem unique to our tropical weather – eye make-up slides off because of sweat and grease. It’s so common and I see it all the time! Grab yourself a good set of eyeliner and mascara. They aren’t necessarily expensive. I recently got my beauty haul from Don Don Donki. I think Japanese products are usually very on point.

7. Is there a beauty secret that you swear by?

For skincare, I use a very light hydrating serum that contains hyaluronic acid. Perfect for our climate.

For make-up, I mix a tinted moisturiser with my foundation so that it gives my skin a lighter, more natural finish. Shh, don’t tell too many people.

8. How big is your beauty collection now?

Let’s just say it’s enough to last a lifetime! I know I only have one face, but I can’t resist trying new products. My mum even helps herself to my make-up!
