Bazaar Raya Utara at Sembawang MRT has over 25 F&B stalls with Korean cream waffles & cheesy fried chicken, carnival rides & games

If you’re looking for a new pasar malam or bazaar to visit in the coming weeks, Bazaar Raya Utara at Sembawang MRT Station has just opened! The bazaar, which will take place from 6 Mar to 4 Apr 2024, is located in the empty field next to Sun Plaza, with close to 30 F&B stalls to explore and savour.

The large bazaar consists of most pasar malam staples, including plenty of food and drink options, an outdoor carnival with rides, carnival game booths, claw machines and small retail booths. Fans of the usual pasar malam F&B offerings can enjoy classics like takoyaki, okonomiyaki, Taiwanese fried chicken cutlets, Ramly burgers and fried fritters.

Some stalls had food items that were a little more innovative— I spotted kwaffle, a stall selling Korean-style waffles filled with cream, with prices starting from S$4.50 for half a waffle. Stall 25 was a Taiwanese snacks stall that had Spicy Egg Roll Noodles (S$6)— the dish consisted of spicy Samyang noodles, cheese and a chicken hotdog wrapped in an egg.

For some delicious skewered meat or seafood, Satay Kak Pah is a great stall to check out— we tried their Assorted Satay (S$12 for 10 pieces), which was incredibly flavourful and delicious with a nice char, albeit the steep price. Grab a quick bite at Stall 11, which has chewy Tapioca Cakes (S$5 for 3 pieces) and Fried Chicken Leg (S$3.50), both of which satisfied me greatly.

We also had the Chicken Kebab (S$6) from a Turkish stall near the entrance of the bazaar, which was unfortunately too small in relation to the price. My favourite dish of the day was the Cheesy Chicken Chop (S$8) from the Taiwanese snacks stall— the chicken was crispy and the cheese was flowy, though the price was pretty steep.

Wash it all down with a drink from JuzDrink— you can get gigantic 1 litre cups filled with unique drinks like Blue Bubblegum, Vanilla Dream and Purple Rain.

Bazaar Raya Utara at Sembawang MRT Station will run from 12pm to 10pm daily, so do drop by to get your bazaar fix.
